Frequently asked questions about ₿eeHoney21.

Our honey.
What does honey have to do with Bitcoin?

Quite a lot, when you look closer:

Honey and Bitcoin are both the product of invested energy and time. Both can only be counterfeited in the long run with extremely high effort.

Those who want the original must pay the price for genuine quality. Those who want to save money end up with inferior alternatives.

Honey is the original "Natural Proof of Work"!

What exactly does "from our own apiary" mean?

This means that our honey comes from our own beehives and is not purchased or mixed with commercial products. We personally oversee the entire process, from caring for the bees to bottling.

Why are the batches limited?

Our batches are limited because we only work with the quantities that our own apiary actually produces. Every harvest is finite and is bottled only in small quantities.

How do spring and summer costumes differ?

Spring blossoms are usually lighter, finer, and milder. Summer blossoms are often stronger, more complex, and more aromatic. Aroma, color, and character always depend on the season, location, and variety of blossoms.

Why does the honey have Bitcoin names?

BeeHoney21 combines beekeeping with the ideas behind Bitcoin: scarcity, time, value, and personal responsibility. Names like "satoshi" and "nakamoto" are part of this brand world.

What is the 21 Satoshi bonus?

Selected products include a small Bitcoin bonus of 21 Satoshis via the Lightning Network. You can see if a product includes this bonus on its respective product page.

Why is BeeHoney21 more expensive than standard honey?

BeeHoney21 is honey from their own apiary, harvested in small batches and processed by hand. This is complemented by limited harvests, elaborate design, and, depending on the product, special packaging or bonus elements.

Is this also suitable as a gift?

Yes. Many BeeHoney21 products are very suitable as gifts — especially for people who appreciate high-quality and distinctive products.

Is the honey natural?

Yes. Our honey is processed gently and not heated unnecessarily. This ensures that its aroma, character, and natural properties are preserved as much as possible.

Why does our honey crystallize?

Honey crystallizing is a completely natural process. When and how quickly this happens depends primarily on the ratio of glucose (grape sugar) to fructose (fruit sugar): the higher the glucose content, the faster honey forms fine crystals.

For example:

  • rapeseed honey usually crystallizes very quickly (high glucose content)
  • acacia honey often remains liquid for longer (high fructose content)

Fresh honey that crystallizes can initially become very solid. To ensure our honey has its creamy, spreadable consistency, we stir it gently and regularly before bottling. This finely distributes the crystals, resulting in a particularly smooth mouthfeel.

Why might a white ring appear?

With our nakamoto honey, a light, solid ring may occasionally form at the rim of the jar. This is natural edge crystallization (very fine sugar crystals) that preferentially forms on the glass wall and does not indicate a quality defect.

Honey that remains completely liquid for an extended period has often been heated more than usual. While this can delay crystallization, it often impairs aroma and natural properties.

How long does our honey keep?

The German Beekeepers Association (DIB) recommends a minimum shelf life of 2 years for honey.

Since honey is naturally very stable, it can often be consumed beyond this period if stored correctly.

An important factor is the water content: our honey has a water content of less than 18%, which has a positive effect on its shelf life.

Tip: Honey is best stored in a cool, dry, and dark place.

How do I store honey correctly?

Ideally, store honey in a cool, dry, dark place, e.g., in a pantry (not directly next to the stove).

Heat and moisture can change the flavor and consistency over time.

Tip: Always seal the container well so that the honey does not absorb moisture from the air.

Our batch numbers.

What is the batch number?

The batch number is a identifier printed on every jar of honey to ensure complete traceability.

How are the batch numbers structured?

Our batch numbers help to uniquely trace each bottling. They are structured as follows:

/ (e.g., 3/2026)

What does the bottling batch mean?

The first number represents the bottling batch within the respective honey harvest:

  • 1–5: Spring harvest;
  • 6–9: Summer harvest

When does the bottling batch change?

As soon as we bottle on a new day or the bottling conditions change (e.g., a different variety), the honey receives the next available number in the appropriate range.
